Israel’s Harvest Times

Numerous Torah commands and events that take place in the Bible involve ancient Israel’s crops and harvests. Knowing when these harvests take place is therefore an important tool to have–and so here you go!

Nissan – Sivan (April to May) = Barley, Peas, Lentils, and Vetch

IyarSivan (May) = Wheat and Oats

SivanTammuz (June) = Chickpeas

TammuzAv (July) = Sesame and Flax

TammuzElul (July to August) = Millet

SivanTishrei (June to September) = Grapes

AvTishrei (August to September) = Figs and Pomegranates

ElulKislev (September to November) = Olives
